The Uganda Wildlife Authority regulates entry into Semuliki National Park under the Uganda Wildlife Act.
All visitors must hold a valid park entry receipt, issued at designated entry gates or purchased in advance from authorised offices. The ticket is valid for twenty-four hours and must be retained for verification throughout the visit.
As of the current Uganda Wildlife Authority tariff, the entry fee for foreign non-residents is 40 United States dollars per person.
Foreign residents pay 30 United States dollars, while East African citizens pay 20,000 Ugandan shillings. These rates apply per day and exclude accommodation or specialised activity permits.
Payments can be made in cash or by electronic transfer through the Uganda Wildlife Authority payment portal. Visitors who book through licensed tour operators may have the fees included in their total package.
Besides entry fees, specific activities such as birding, nature walks, and night drives may incur additional costs depending on duration and the level of guide involvement.
Permits are required for research, commercial filming, or photography involving professional equipment. Applications for such permits should be submitted directly to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters in Kampala or through its online service platform at least two weeks before the intended visit.
Identification documents such as passports, national IDs, or residence permits are mandatory at the entry gate. This ensures that visitors are categorised correctly by fee bracket. For group safaris, the lead guide or tour leader is responsible for coordinating collective entry clearance.
On top of that, visitors should confirm the park’s latest tariff information before travel, as rates may change following annual revisions. Updated fee schedules are always available on the official Uganda Wildlife Authority website and at regional offices in Fort Portal or Kampala.
Finally, it is advisable to carry printed proof of payment and identification throughout the visit. This simple precaution helps avoid unnecessary delays at checkpoints or during inter-park transfers.
